In 2009, I was hired by clients to better understand how the Great Recession was impacting everyday Americans. We traveled the country, doing pre-arranged in-home interviews and found events and locations where we could conduct intercept interviews.

We were in Indianapolis on Indy 500 race weekend doing intercepts at the mall. It was almost time to shut down for the day and conclude the entire fielding portion of the project. And then, Gregory walked up and changed my life…
